I love this pattern, sews up so quick and easy. This one is for a special young friend who is having a little girl. I hope she enjoys the bright, fun colors. That's <em>only</em> 14!!! That means I need to get one done every 3 weeks, so that I'm not sewing all night every night the entire month of December. So far, 2 finished and another one ready to sew the blocks together. Lots more pictures to follow. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>This one is called Good and Plenty. It's for one of the 8 year old girls. She <em>loves</em> pink and is planning on doing her room in pink and black. I've got the same pattern almost done in purple and black for her sister. Three of them were pretty easy - but this one. . . My oldest son and his wife didn't want a large quilt for their bed, but thought they would like a wall-hanging instead. The challenge? Red and purple were the preferred colors. Might not be a challenge for others, but for me. . . not my favorites, so after one failed attempt, I settled on these jewel tones and was really pleased with the outcome.<br /><br /><br /><div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8494698222224015813.post-26547848172625562332011-11-13T17:05:00.000-08:002011-11-13T17:21:24.090-08:00Latest projects<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg65sp2UVGVZpjzOJdxJNoDSsplMcAdcJwY1H5wuaPxIOHXGuMQWlusx9CoC_0jkiieu2Hll7j7hVuVxs8HQO6ohe3HS2MSricqQBreSwPYK56aWmhrYIuSj1ndpLQT281aGUgvUrV4d5g/s1600/autumn-birches.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 232px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5674654206045981634" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg65sp2UVGVZpjzOJdxJNoDSsplMcAdcJwY1H5wuaPxIOHXGuMQWlusx9CoC_0jkiieu2Hll7j7hVuVxs8HQO6ohe3HS2MSricqQBreSwPYK56aWmhrYIuSj1ndpLQT281aGUgvUrV4d5g/s320/autumn-birches.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaSZLSGJiwv1OF6s3MNpXrM0r88x8uS_hcAzLCb0LA4NFzP-OIXyhhtgFid0Ddk43nJ92e3Vjz0yL7xOU64jD5YtVdvqHqfFcoWh_ZyPF4LjInrAJzJsXQxvtMltfXxpdt8GcEbHAqs7E/s1600/circular-momentum-quilt.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 318px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5674654208040384306" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaSZLSGJiwv1OF6s3MNpXrM0r88x8uS_hcAzLCb0LA4NFzP-OIXyhhtgFid0Ddk43nJ92e3Vjz0yL7xOU64jD5YtVdvqHqfFcoWh_ZyPF4LjInrAJzJsXQxvtMltfXxpdt8GcEbHAqs7E/s320/circular-momentum-quilt.jpg" /></a> <br /><div>OK, it's been awhile since I've posted, what can I say, I'm a busy woman! ! ! We committed to 6 quilts by the middle of August. I finished two this week and have another top ready to tie. We might just make our dead-line. This one is the 3-6-9 pattern. Super easy and lots of fun. I make both of these service quilts with scraps I had in my stash. <br /><div>This one has been worked on for almost 6 months. It's Jackson's "big boy quilt" . A few years ago I made Log Cabin quilts with the same colors and scraps cut from their dad's jeans for Jack's older brothers. I finally got his done. The back is flannel, so it's nice and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">cozzy</span>. He was so happy to get it today that he wrapped himself in it. I almost cried. I love making quilts for my grandchildren, especially when they love them.</div>

(Check it out at: <a href="http://dishinitout.blogspot.com/">http://dishinitout.blogspot.com/</a>) She made a yummy looking pizza the other day and I told her I would share my pizza dough recipe with her, so here goes:<br /><br />In large bowl, 1 teaspoon sugar 1 1/2 cups warm water, add: 2 envelopes rapid-rise yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes or until bubbly. I've started lots of projects, finished very few. But. . . I did manage to finish this very important one! The quilt for our new grand-baby - Jace Parker - who arrived just this week. So, Jayme and Jace - this one is on it's way to you by special delivery (meaning I'll be bringing it with me!) I hope you like it. The pattern is Swirly Pop by Cluck.Cluck.Sew </div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8494698222224015813.post-1546277161168039872011-01-26T13:43:00.000-08:002011-01-26T14:25:03.467-08:00Sweet Baby GirlI've been asked to teach a quilt class to a group of young ladies at Church. Most of them have never pieced a quilt before, so I like to pick something easy. This pattern is called "Chip Off the Old Block". It's a jelly roll quilt and makes up very fast and easy. This picture is one I did with that pattern using a jelly roll from <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">JoAnne's</span> Fabric. I made it for a good friend of mine who is having a baby girl next month. I loved the way it turned out, I wish my pictures were better though.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP5A6aTeZjzGWfSEPbROWhLGYQX3SSvV583vZeG7ReuXPfn8jHHvz01Vr04e5_GMtGwYK6RMQa1BienV76FWtfVYTZv8b9J6tFWEAalGIjHDm37EIA6FnCY3tWJr1gOR2pgFDN2ELeQCg/s1600/DSCN0385.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566623165119455106" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP5A6aTeZjzGWfSEPbROWhLGYQX3SSvV583vZeG7ReuXPfn8jHHvz01Vr04e5_GMtGwYK6RMQa1BienV76FWtfVYTZv8b9J6tFWEAalGIjHDm37EIA6FnCY3tWJr1gOR2pgFDN2ELeQCg/s400/DSCN0385.JPG" /></a><br /><div>I had some fun with my new <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">AccuQuilt</span> and did a little subtle applique on one corner - notice the flowers?<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9IKKrOkp9FdgBdr2U3E_QFPzL4KbLnRJaBdrfSoWaH6u8XMngoeBwiDSiwQ_e6nTPYje84OohsOItkIL6FAltC-jwZ4F_0SUcWtB1O4pe55otL7AnxW3h_I1vHdn1H-q3G94OjLtxwDI/s1600/DSCN0387.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5566622633030250562" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9IKKrOkp9FdgBdr2U3E_QFPzL4KbLnRJaBdrfSoWaH6u8XMngoeBwiDSiwQ_e6nTPYje84OohsOItkIL6FAltC-jwZ4F_0SUcWtB1O4pe55otL7AnxW3h_I1vHdn1H-q3G94OjLtxwDI/s320/DSCN0387.JPG" /></a> </div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8494698222224015813.post-39660951807962316312010-12-09T20:23:00.001-08:002010-12-09T20:48:50.400-08:00December Projects<div align="center">Log Cabin Scrap Quilt</div><div align="justify"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7JAdB4uAnduzW-oKmVovKlSPMgF0Lc2VofWSUtDUW81mYWAPSjzMA9qzsFQoyf16Xie_nZRTFbLPAV866i2ZdrmTWvRCfoyIuen1OctfgkVmWhHi-ltrIM1sSz6Uv81fLbMwpLkC6x0g/s1600/dec+2010+quilts+007.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5548909310158302050" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7JAdB4uAnduzW-oKmVovKlSPMgF0Lc2VofWSUtDUW81mYWAPSjzMA9qzsFQoyf16Xie_nZRTFbLPAV866i2ZdrmTWvRCfoyIuen1OctfgkVmWhHi-ltrIM1sSz6Uv81fLbMwpLkC6x0g/s320/dec+2010+quilts+007.JPG" /></a>I thought it would be fun to make a scrappy quilt from my stash. I chose a log cabin design because they are SO easy and quick. Quick being the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">operative</span> word this month. I decided to use this as a gift in our family Christmas party gift exchange so I had a dead-line to complete it. Now that it's done - I LOVE it! My sweetheart says that he would fight for this one - I guess that means that he likes it to. Again, pictures don't show the depth or warmth of the colors. With this one, whoever gets it is someone I love so I'll be happy!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgduKtgDe7N08PvZZey8DrDWP9Z6dDCeqcIR5Wb7q6D6WHbOwLiMNte3CEtbHDUTcvcct_qZRuFe8V6QPR_8SnfWvnPQGvq-k6BeLyMvhrZrujfCE9wARHX6MtMz9L7AgDOyur4KdZ1Ics/s1600/dec+2010+quilts+006.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5548909303174702514" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgduKtgDe7N08PvZZey8DrDWP9Z6dDCeqcIR5Wb7q6D6WHbOwLiMNte3CEtbHDUTcvcct_qZRuFe8V6QPR_8SnfWvnPQGvq-k6BeLyMvhrZrujfCE9wARHX6MtMz9L7AgDOyur4KdZ1Ics/s320/dec+2010+quilts+006.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div>This is the quilt I finished this week for <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jense</span>. I bought the fabric and pattern from Connecting Threads - the fabric collection is Cheep Talk. I love the finished quilt. School cancelled, husband sent home from work early and me shut up in the nice warm house ALL day! I love it! I got so much done. I've been working on Christmas projects for the last month or so. Just finished number 5 of these cute Christmas count-down wall hangings. The numbers are on little squares that button on and the bottom of the manger is a pocket to store them. I love all things Nativity!!! Now, back to the scrappy quilt I've been working on - pictures to follow soon. . . and the rest of the 15 pairs of pajama bottoms I need to finish in time for the grand-kids to get them for Christmas. (I could use about a week of getting snowed/iced in). :)<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdLyb1QRSDarLg7-6_UlukmuN84rS_0cWyUNeF3Dep1foYM91jV486SWijovxCuJZMK1YHXLZA-RNSTNMuxWpK5YAb8EytM5P4y_Np1YefrpPV12ii0o1WfAIX4zf0eZph18wrsriNHZM/s1600/Nov+2010+014.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5542528984309726706" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdLyb1QRSDarLg7-6_UlukmuN84rS_0cWyUNeF3Dep1foYM91jV486SWijovxCuJZMK1YHXLZA-RNSTNMuxWpK5YAb8EytM5P4y_Np1YefrpPV12ii0o1WfAIX4zf0eZph18wrsriNHZM/s400/Nov+2010+014.JPG" /></a><br /><div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8494698222224015813.post-81471828986204208372010-11-04T15:36:00.000-07:002010-11-04T16:01:27.034-07:00Fall Quilt Festival<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-upZiwECrBcEAxAOJYN1G54-GlxwYlm4h4lHHMsQYNBHM14SmyCnk_aFtGCDPumBnWrMZd04ikyIoUFBcOMB-hJeKTCfzVC1SarKckOVSoLHSOfOdH3K721xgq2DzEWYzaYg9dz2hCGw/s1600/fall+quilt+003.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5535830396077311762" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-upZiwECrBcEAxAOJYN1G54-GlxwYlm4h4lHHMsQYNBHM14SmyCnk_aFtGCDPumBnWrMZd04ikyIoUFBcOMB-hJeKTCfzVC1SarKckOVSoLHSOfOdH3K721xgq2DzEWYzaYg9dz2hCGw/s400/fall+quilt+003.JPG" /></a><br /><div>I would like to share this quilt and it's story as part of an online Quilt Festival, look at all the incredible quilts at: <a href="http://amyscreativeside.com/">http://amyscreativeside.com/</a></div><br /><div></div><div>Last year a dear friend and I went to Houston to the International Quilt Festival. While there, I kept buying random fat quarters for a future quilt. I had decided ahead of time to do this and knew that I would color coordinate the quilt based on the first fat-quarter I bought. It was a pretty orange and green floral that attracted me first. Done. Just before leaving Houston we stopped at a little out of the way shop and outside, hanging on a clothes line, they had a beautiful Fall-coloring quilt that would work perfect for the fabric I had bought. I got home and excitedly cut it all out. Then got busy with other things, almost a year later while spending a lovely week-end with that same friend (while our husbands fished), I put the quilt together and just finished it today. I love a quilt that has memories attached. I know that every time I look at this one, I will remember Bobbie, the fun times we've shared and how important good friends are.</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8494698222224015813.post-87225372070817013782010-10-27T13:49:00.000-07:002010-10-27T13:57:10.809-07:00All Patched Up!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbmj6kuoGBi87bLhi8GY83V2h4_VXl44lN0SjVYW875Pycp9ExzRVOxkCUZJrQ3mx6vxE1nrQOPT0rZExqIRtLvtLGlX9f0KtLfXiwsUUVJODkIGt7Ain2XMLu5s3PEoZGspbhaixF5qQ/s1600/October+27+001.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 400px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5532831497849007298" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbmj6kuoGBi87bLhi8GY83V2h4_VXl44lN0SjVYW875Pycp9ExzRVOxkCUZJrQ3mx6vxE1nrQOPT0rZExqIRtLvtLGlX9f0KtLfXiwsUUVJODkIGt7Ain2XMLu5s3PEoZGspbhaixF5qQ/s400/October+27+001.JPG" /></a> OK, Jayme, this one's for you. My latest project - a pattern from <span style="font-family:lucida grande;"><em>Cluck Cluck Sew</em> called: All Patched Up. This is a fun, easy pattern and now I just can't wait to finish it!<br /></span><div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8494698222224015813.post-50886781181255590022010-10-25T20:04:00.000-07:002010-10-25T20:16:18.627-07:00Scrappy StarsI LOVE scrappy quilts. The kind that look like you made them out of whatever scraps you had on hand, and yet they work. This one was made from a Buggy Barn stack and whack pattern. The fabric did NOT come out of my scraps, but I love how the finished quilt looks like it could have. I was putting it away today and realized that I would love to make another one of these stack and whack star quilts. Maybe in some of the many blue/white and silver snowflake fabrics I collected several years ago when I used to decorate for Christmas in those colors. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Hmmm</span>.......<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAEq6bsrlVmIc0ltgfsvtV6hiGlcOUDAN7mJxtSF0U6kjCj5MPL-sHASRRkceHDeGtcX-hTDNLq27f-Qap6MyZLHT-dN18xMbnVQLMGVa1GBCoJ2YCv8E5F_la0GoYYjuBB5D7QgAWHzw/s1600/star+quilt"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 229px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5532185733743532690" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAEq6bsrlVmIc0ltgfsvtV6hiGlcOUDAN7mJxtSF0U6kjCj5MPL-sHASRRkceHDeGtcX-hTDNLq27f-Qap6MyZLHT-dN18xMbnVQLMGVa1GBCoJ2YCv8E5F_la0GoYYjuBB5D7QgAWHzw/s400/star+quilt" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZcjYbf7GuSDkTZNsFxGURhMyomkJOF0Ke-sGvGq4uPJKPdiXGwefxYJ_BwE2hNmsTBRVrSBHhVR4YzthnEM7ziUeGOVCGk9S1u4ZNKs_AwphriHxUIcFZy1ALu3JGAVjeNJm6dHt2MTI/s1600/pink+n+blue+log+cabin"></a><br /><br /><div></div></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8494698222224015813.post-45396401224505554872010-10-21T09:00:00.000-07:002010-10-21T09:19:08.750-07:00Crazy Quilt or Memory Quilt?<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE-XaYd205maWO7X2xRg-oOhKDarJMloi4nj5u7h4QLorkJyQXYD5fJZ4MoqkSa-_Ke6dCg660GBmh9dIPp2rG-1Be64SD1SFjQ1PvEnWcv_ZwznIjG7B7urD35GCdf27fY1HbG98Ujwg/s1600/Oct+2010+060.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530533612355979090" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE-XaYd205maWO7X2xRg-oOhKDarJMloi4nj5u7h4QLorkJyQXYD5fJZ4MoqkSa-_Ke6dCg660GBmh9dIPp2rG-1Be64SD1SFjQ1PvEnWcv_ZwznIjG7B7urD35GCdf27fY1HbG98Ujwg/s320/Oct+2010+060.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIEO2KQekjYhW-yShcrniWOZ5TI7W0phsxMAPgegdEuGdYw6aMzz5QnSVI-OtOQI2hUHTufGWB-gPkbG4Ztn8SWb2bNi7WGoNMELGqiDJYP3r1HEqPEFRgq0RumprIFpPap5nqCXdboqM/s1600/CookBk+(4).jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 169px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5530533602075640562" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIEO2KQekjYhW-yShcrniWOZ5TI7W0phsxMAPgegdEuGdYw6aMzz5QnSVI-OtOQI2hUHTufGWB-gPkbG4Ztn8SWb2bNi7WGoNMELGqiDJYP3r1HEqPEFRgq0RumprIFpPap5nqCXdboqM/s320/CookBk+(4).jpg" /></a> <div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-tyr2hs6F8K_ZOUEEr7Y0evXf0CoZU4vqxdm7gbcWBjmLSK_fS4ApMUCeMAjAo44fi493-jnEW1wX6i8cV0a9HMP3aRzd1bEcPuZx_ipJDPv2VyIqk5wpNgFoJloVNFIS_3NQOXJgts4/s1600/Oct+2010+060.JPG"></a><div>Years ago my mother gave me a quilt top (uncompleted) that my Great-grandmother made.
